Iqbal Day 2012

As always, Iqbal Day was celebrated at EPIC with traditional enthusiasm. It was a collaborative effort by the Urdu and English departments consisting of speeches, recitations, dramatic performances and tableaus.

The idea behind it was to refresh the message of Iqbal in children's minds and make them understand its relevance today. Children made passionate speeches on different themes of Iqbal's poetry. The meaning of the symbol of the Falcon Iqbal used in his poetry was explained by participants and Iqbal's message to the youth was highlighted.

Students also shared their thoughts on Iqbal's vision for Pakistan and what he had aspired it should be.
The event was very well received as both entertaining as well as deeply enlightening.

Dengue Awareness Campaign

EPIC aims to instil civic awareness and good citizenship among students. With the Dengue epidemic having hit Lahore and likely to stay for some time, the school decided to launch an awareness drive to educate the children about the risks and preventive measures for Dengue.

The Art department held a Poster Competition in which children from all classes participated. Kids came up with colourfully and creatively presented ideas with attractive captions and helpful information about the spread and prevention of the disease.

These posters were put up on campus and students were made to read them in order to increase their awareness about the epidemic.

Merit certificates were distributed among children whose posters had the best and most attractively presented information. The following students were declared winners:

First: Amina Imran, IV.
Second: Iman Mufti. III.
Third: Fatima Jawad, III.
